Interpolation and Approximation from Convex Sets II. In nite-Dimensional Interpolation

چکیده
Let X and Y be topological vector spaces, A be a continuous linear map from X to Y , C X, B be a convex set dense in C, and d 2 Y be a data point. Conditions are derived guaranteeing the set B \ A ?1 (d) to be nonempty and dense in C \ A ?1 (d). The paper generalizes earlier results by the authors to the case where Y is innnite dimensional. The theory is illustrated with two examples concerning the existence of smooth monotone extensions of functions deened on a domain of the Euclidean space to a larger domain.

NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL HEAT AND WAVE EQUATION BY NON-POLYNOMIAL QUINTIC SPLINE
This paper present a novel numerical algorithm for the linear one-dimensional heat and wave equation. In this method, a nite dierenceapproach had been used to discrete the time derivative while cubic spline isapplied as an interpolation function in the space dimension. We discuss theaccuracy of the method by expanding the equation based on Taylor series andminimize the error. The proposed metho...
متن کاملApplication of Fuzzy Bicubic Splines Interpolation for Solving Two-Dimensional Linear Fuzzy Fredholm Integral Equations
In this paper, firstly, we review approximation of fuzzy functions by fuzzy bicubic splines interpolation and present a new approach based on the two-dimensional fuzzy splines interpolation and iterative method to approximate the solution of two-dimensional linear fuzzy Fredholm integral equation (2DLFFIE). Also, we prove convergence analysis and numerical stability analysis ...

Let X be a topological vector space, Y = IR n , n 2 IN, A a continuous linear map from X to Y , C X, B a convex set dense in C, and d 2 Y a data point. We derive conditions which guarantee that the set B \ A ?1 (d) is nonempty and dense in C \ A ?1 (d). Some applications to shape preserving interpolation and approximation are described.
متن کاملApproximation of Univariate Set-Valued Functions- an Overview
The paper is an updated survey of our work on the approximation of univariate setvalued functions by samples-based linear approximation operators, beyond the results reported in our previous overview. Our approach is to adapt operators for real-valued functions to set-valued functions, by replacing operations between numbers by operations between sets. For set-valued functions with compact conv...
متن کاملIntersections of Sequences of Ideals Generated by Polynomials
We present a method for determining the reduced Grobner basis with respect to a given admissible term order of order type ! of the intersection ideal of an in nite sequence of polynomial ideals. As an application we discuss the Lagrange type interpolation on algebraic sets and the \approximation" of the ideal I of an algebraic set by zero dimensional ideals, whose a ne Hilbert functions conver...
